Vitreo-Retinal Consultants, Inc. is seeking a Medical Assistant for its Hermitage, PA location. A Certified Ophthalmic Assistant (COA) or Certified Medical Assistant (CMA) is preferred. However, we would consider training someone who is willing to learn and who has a basic understanding of medical history taking and medical terminology. We offer a competitive salary, commensurate with your experience.

We are a private practice ophthalmology group that specializes in the retina. We have six fellowship-trained retinal specialists, four main locations, and multiple satellite and surgery centers. We have proudly been serving our communities for 41 years.

Travel is required for this position to our other three locations: Canton, OH; Mentor, OH; and Canfield, OH.

Responsibilities:

• Taking patient histories
• Pre-exam testing
• Assisting and scribing for physicians during exams, procedures, and advanced diagnostic testing.

Qualifications and skills required:

• Ophthalmology/Retina experience preferred but not required
• Ability to travel to outlying offices (mileage reimbursed)
• Electronic Health Record (EHR) experience
• One year of medical assisting experience (ophthalmology experience is a plus, but is not required)

Starting Pay:

• Ophthalmic Assistant:$16 per hour

• Certified Ophthalmic Assistant:$19 per hour
• Surgery Assistant: $22 per hour

Experience:

• EMR systems: 1 year (Preferred)
• Vital signs: 1 year (Preferred)

License/Certification:

• BLS Certification (Preferred)
• Certified Medical Assistant (Preferred)
