BASIC PURPOSE:

Responsible for booking team members, workers and contractors, as well as monitoring currently blocked cabins in order to ensure a timely release of all inventory that is no longer needed in order to support revenue maximization efforts.

POSITION RESPONSIBILITIES:

Assign and block space into passenger or boundary cabins for operational purposes in accordance with Revenue Management’s policies and the Business Use stateroom guidelines.

Maintain regular and frequent communication with departments such as Marine, Entertainment, and Hotel Operations.

Review ship inventory on a daily basis and process all complimentary and reduced rate cabin requests for programs including team members, workers, cruise/charity/sales/bingo winners, travel agents, marketing photoshoots, public relations and press events.

Maintain team member allocation grid and action any pending team member cruise benefit requests.

Assist team members with cruise benefits by confirming status of requests and explaining policy and procedures. Act as liaison between the Team Member hotline and the Resolution Desk.

Review ship inventory and request additional space from the Revenue Analyst regarding team member cruise benefits, friends and family program and vendors, as needed within guidelines.

  • Monitor, assign, follow up, and file emails sent to the Revenue Operations and Reduced Rates mailboxes.
  • Process Friends and Family requests for team members and vendors.
  • Create group shells for Seminars at Sea events for the domestic sales team.
  • Create group bookings for Park West Art Gallery / VIP Art.
  • Assist on ship inaugural events with contractors and VIP guests’ reservations.
  • Performs other job-related duties as assigned.

KNOWLEDGE AND EXPERIENCE:

EDUCATION: High School Diploma or equivalent.

EXPERIENCE: 2 years reservations or group reservations experience.

KNOWLEDGE & SKILLS: Excellent customer service techniques to work well with internal and external contacts. Strong written and verbal communication skills in order to effectively interact with team members from different departments and external clients. Basic knowledge of Norwegian’s reservation system and products. Knowledge of Seaware / Seaweb. Basic level skill set of Microsoft Office Suite with special emphasis on Excel in order to navigate and use basic spreadsheet functions. Excellent organizational skills in order to prioritize and handle multiple tasks. Ability to work well under pressure while meeting deadlines and maintaining high quality of work. Must be extremely accurate and detail oriented in order to maintain high standards of accuracy when updating and making changes in the system. Must be willing to assist other team members as priorities and deadlines change for the department. Excellent trouble shooting skills in order to assist with system issues and answer questions regarding policies and procedures. Knowledge of general business operations to recognize alternative solutions to minimize costs to related issues and maximize resources. Ability to understand inventory and the use of all price programs to ensure zero empty cabins on each sailing for all brands. Must be able to work some off-hours, weekends and holidays in order to minimize system disruption or for system testing, according to business needs.
