JOB DESCRIPTION:

The Northern Pacific Airways Direct Entry First Officer safely operates Company aircraft according to regulations, as well as established policies and procedures. The First Officer reports to the Chief Pilot and is accountable to the Captain for flight-specific duties. This position is expected to uphold safety while performing flight crew duties and fulfilling the responsibilities expected of a Northern Pacific Airways employee. • Upholding safety by ensuring all work is accomplished in accordance with the Code of Federal Regulations (CFRs) and the Company's manuals.
• Maintaining a strong safety mindset through clear and timely communication with all appropriate points of contact involved in flight operations, including alerting the flight's PIC of any actual or suspected deviation from regulations or company procedures.
• Assuming responsibility for managing tasks at outstations, when appropriately trained, to include fueling, bag handling, cargo handling, and deicing, because of our commitment to a successful team effort.
• Promoting commitment by engaging in courteous and respectful interactions with customers, supervisors, co-workers, and business associates.

JOB RESPONSIBILITIES:

• Upholding safety by ensuring all work is accomplished in accordance with the Code of Federal Regulations (CFRs) and the Companies manuals. For example, confirming that an exterior aircraft inspection is properly performed by a member of the flight crew prior to each flight.
• Maintaining a strong safety-focused environment by participating with crewmembers and dispatch personnel on all aspects relating to safe operation of the aircraft and performance of crew duties, promoting fundamental Crew Resource Management (CRM) with on-going communications involving all personnel during each active flight duty period.
• Assuming responsibility for coordinating tasks at outstations, when appropriately trained, to include fueling, bag handling, cargo handling, and deicing, because of our commitment to a successful team effort.
• Promoting commitment by engaging in courteous and respectful interactions with customers, supervisors, co-workers, and business associates.

• Maintaining reliability in the operation by ensuring the aircraft is equipped with all required systems and components for its designated operations prior to originating a flight or a series of flights and remains airworthy until termination of the flights.

JOB REQUIREMENTS:

The successful candidate has excellent customer service skills, team member qualities, and leadership competencies, in addition to the required certifications and experience the position requires. This will be a home-based position transiting from designated USA Gateway Cities for duty. Qualifications include:

• Must have an FAA Airline Transport Pilot (ATP) Certificate.
• Must have a valid First-Class FAA Medical.
• Must have a Minimum of 3,000 hours on multi-crew, multi-engine aircraft, (only time in the operating seat of a turboprop and/or turbojet aircraft can be counted, not flight simulator time).
• Minimum of 1,500 hours Second in Command (SIC) on multi-crew, multi-engine commercial jet aircraft with MTOW of 50 tons/110,000 Lbs. or more.
• Must not have a record of any Civil Aviation Authority (FAA, CAA, JCAB, etc.) ‘Certificate Action' or ‘Administrative Action' within the prior 30 months.
• Must have a valid USA Passport or USA Crew VISA in a foreign passport and the ability to travel in and out of the US, including to Canada.
• Must be fluent in English (Level 6), and able to communicate in a professional manner both verbally and in writing.
• Must be able to fulfill the physical requirements of the position which require the ability to lift and maneuver 20 lbs. on a regular basis, and may involve lifting and maneuvering up to 65 lbs.
• Must be able to work all shifts, to include weekends and holidays.
• Must be able to work in all types of weather, including extreme temperatures.
• Must have a strong safety awareness and the ability to adhere to Safety Management Systems (SMS). knowledge of risk assessment and mitigation is highly desired.
• Must be able to pass a comprehensive background check, including a motor vehicle record check for the previous 36 months, and pre-employment DOT drug screen.

• Must be able to pass a comprehensive background check and drug test.
• Must be willing to work in an airport environment around odors and sounds typically associated with operating aircraft.
