Job Description

We are seeking a highly qualified professional for an established position working with an adult male quadriplegic. In this position, you will provide direct care for this individual throughout the night. Preferred candidates will have an established background in home care and will have years of prior experience working third shift. This position requires that the support is awake and alert throughout their shift. Qualified applicants will be knowledgeable, highly committed to their best practices, and genuinely upbeat and communicative!

Days & Hours:

Saturday– Tuesday (10:30 PM – 7:30 AM) Working 36 hours per week on a biweekly payroll.

Tasks & Duties:

Ventilator monitor/maintenance at night, trach care, respiratory suctioning, urinary and bowel management, bathing, skin care, massage, ROM, medication administration, vital signs as needed, assist with activities of daily living, pet care, light cleaning including laundry, wiping down counters, changing trash and recycling, sweeping floors, ironing.

Travel Opportunities:

Our client typically spends about six weeks per year traveling throughout the US and the world (not consecutively but cumulatively). He retains his night support through these travels as well as an additional person to work the daytime hours. All expenses are paid through this and the support for these trips will be afforded a rest period before the trip begins and after it ends.

Work Location/Environment:

The client of this position lives in a fully secured condominium with on-site parking adjacent to the Burlington waterfront. There is a private room for the support staff to use throughout the night, which is equipped with a smart TV, Internet access and a fully integrated kitchen nearby.
