The Role:

As the Maintenance Manager, you will plan, direct, and coordinate activities involved in design, construction, modification, maintenance of equipment and machinery, and utility systems in a food processing plant. You will play a key role in the continuous improvement process, safety audits, quality programs, process improvement initiatives, employee training, and leading and mentoring your team.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Complies with and satisfies standards and policies to meet legislated mandates for environmental controls, installation, modification, quality control, testing, operating procedure, training, inspection, and maintenance of equipment, and oversees maintenance of plant buildings.
  • Directs maintenance of facility and coordinates requirements for new designs, surveys, and maintenance schedules for equipment and machinery.
  • Reviews job orders logged on CMMS to plan and schedule work priorities. Scheduled repair, maintenance, and installation of machines, tools, and equipment to ensure that activities are completed on time and within budget, can be tracked and provide historical data to forecast future PM needs and expenditures.
  • Directs maintenance activities on utility systems to provide continuous supply of heat, steam, electric power, gas, or air required for continuous production operations.
  • Collaborates with departmental personnel to resolve maintenance problems and recommend measures to improve operations and conditions of machines and equipment.
  • Prepares bid sheets and contracts for construction and maintenance of equipment and buildings.
  • Tests newly installed machines and equipment to ensure fulfillment of contract specifications.
  • Leads Predictive and Preventative maintenance programs for the facility.
  • Communicates and collaborates with other production supervisors with any problems or changes in department and policies.
  • Understands and adheres to the concepts and techniques of the quality process
  • Ensures working areas are clean and orderly in accordance with Good Manufacturing Practices (GMP’s).


  • Bachelor’s Degree in Mechanical or Industrial Engineering considered an asset
  • 2 years of Management experience
  • Worked in maintenance in a food manufacturing setting preferred
  • Comfortable with technology, Knowledge of CMMS programs
  • Champion of Change
  • Able to coach, mentor, and develop team members

Previous experiences that might be an asset in this role include the following titles: Industrial Engineer, Mechanical Engineer, Maintenance Supervisor

Pay: From $88,000.00 per year
