I have had the opportunity to work for Daymark over the last six years. Having been exposed to bureaucratic utility structure and competitive cooperate environments in my past experiences, working for Daymark has been a refreshing change. 1. The aspect of a small business is true in Daymark's strategic and business functions - the focus is on its people, the team that constitutes the firm and the work that is provided to its clients. 2. Everyone takes pride and ownership in the work they perform and it clearly shows, with clients becoming ambassadors for repeat-business and the employees becoming ambassadors for retention. 3. The flat organization structure also helps in ensuring effective communication among everyone, irrespective of their designations. 4. Trainings and knowledge-sharing sessions (e.g. College of Energy Expertise) continue to be very effective in helping employees (especially newer employees) learn new concepts and support their career development pathways. The opportunity for new employees to advance in their career is significant. 5. Project managers shoulder key client responsibilities and the sponsors/practice-area-leads provide valuable support to their project managers and teams. 6. The operational and administrative staff effectively complement the consulting staff across key business functions. 7. Energy consulting may be challenging at times, but Daymark continues to provide opportunities for its employees to take these challenges head-on to learn and grown exponentially in our careers. I have greatly benefited from this support.

The ebbs and flows of energy consulting are not specific to Daymark - these challenges are seen across the energy industry. It becomes critical for employees in energy consulting to take these potential challenges head-on and convert them to learning opportunities
