Job Posting Description

This Staff Nurse will be responsible for:
  • Delivering advanced, compassionate, patient-centered care to a diverse population by cultivating collaborative relationships and adapting to changing technologies in an evolving model of patient care.
  • Providing clinical care coordination for colorectal and pelvic malformation patients with:
    • Patient follow-up
    • Answering phone calls related to patient issues/triage
    • Prescription refills, lab evaluation, pre-operative and post-operative plans
    • New patient intakes to assess care acuity prior to clinic visit
    • Improve patient safety
    • Improve patient satisfaction
    • Enable NP to see more patients in the clinic and via telehealth
  • Wound and ostomy care
  • Serving as a liaison between the interdisciplinary physician team, nurse practitioners, and administrative staff
  • Working collaboratively to provide family-centered care as a member of the interdisciplinary team
  • Referring patients to community resources, develop relationships with ancillary services to assist in problem solving/facilitate patient access and patient care.
  • Working 40 hours per week Monday through Friday
To qualify, you must have:
  • A Bachelor of Science in Nursing
  • 3 years of RN experience required
  • Previous experience with pediatric complex-care patients preferred.
  • Excellent analytic and organizational skills to resolve highly complex problems

The Colorectal and Pelvic Malformation Center at Boston Children’s specializes in caring for infants, children and adolescents with routine to complex colorectal and pelvic conditions. Our team of pediatric experts from surgery, gastroenterology, urology, and gynecology work together to provide comprehensive and personalized treatment plans for patients and families. The management of some of these patients may involve multidisciplinary care, cross training will be provided in colorectal/pediatric surgery, urology, gynecology and gastroenterology.
