  • My Experience at American Furniture Rentals Branch Manager

When I first moved back to Chicago, I was just looking for a job to get myself started and support my family. I ended up finding much more than that. I started off as a warehouse worker/driver helper just trying to learn the ropes. AFR proved to me that hard work pays off. Within six months, I was approached with an opportunity to be our branch’s Asset Manager. This was an easy choice and launched me on to the AFR management team. Once an asset manager, I had to learn everything I could about our computer system “Advantage” to give myself a shot at advancing within AFR. After nine months. AFR once again had a new opportunity for me as Chicago’s Operations Manager. I accepted this role with no hesitation knowing it was a huge step forward in my AFR career. This position had many new responsibilities and I suddenly had my plate full. I knew if I was to get another promotion at AFR Chicago, it would take me much longer than my first two. Four and a half years later, though, AFR delivered again on it’s word to promote/advance within the company. It’s always a good feeling when the CEO of the company flies out to your branch and asks you if you’d be interested in being the Branch Manager of AFR Chicago. I don’t think anyone was surprised when I said yes. Once again, I’m back to learning and receiving support from those above me, as well as from the Chicago team that has been with me for the past six years.

AFR has grown so fast over the years it's required a lot of hours to accomplish all that we do.
